They allow the listener to get even closer to Henry’s powerful words and melodies, making the reissue of “Blood From Stars” a great addition to any Joe Henry fan’s collection.

Following Wilco’s acclaimed 2023 album Cousin, Wilco revisited unfinished material from these sessions to craft ‘Hot Sun Cool Shroud’. Collaborating again with engineering mixer Tom Schick, the band crafted six tracks that expand on the sound of Cousin. According to Jeff Tweedy, they have “a summertime-after-dark kind of feeling. It starts off pretty hot, like heat during the day, has some instrumentals on it that are a little agitated and uncomfortable, and ends with a cooling breeze.”

For RSD Black Friday 2024, Santana teams up with producers Lino Nicolosi, Nicolosi Team, and Narada Michael Walden (Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey), to present three distinct versions of his composition “Let The Guitar Play”: The Radio Version, The Soul Radio Version, and The 70's Version. The first two feature Run DMC's Darryl McDaniels, who delivers a poetic rap over an EDM-style drum beat, serving as a dynamic catalyst for Santana to intricately weave his signature guitar magic.
This limited edition three song 12” is pressed on tie-dye vinyl.

For RSD Black Friday 2024, Soul Jazz Records is reissuing Tribe’s ‘Dedication’, a superb rare 1970s funk/soul/jazz album, as a one-off pressing special limited-edition Orange Vinyl edition, fully remastered with exact reproduction artwork.
In a similar vein to groups such as Mandrill, Jimmy Castor Bunch, The Blackbyrds, Pleasure, and Kool and the Gang, Tribe blend together elements of funk, jazz, rock, latin and soul music into a unique sound (their first album was aptly named ‘Ethnic Stew’). Dedication is a fantastic long-lost album of deep funk, soul and jazz from the group, originally released independently in 1977 and out-of-print for over 45 years.
Tribe was the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Earl J Foster, who put together the band along with producer Big Dee Ervin in 1974. Aside from Earl Foster the band features Clyde Jardine Powell on bass, Billy Soto on guitar, Jimmie A. Clapper on sax, Benjamin Taylor and Harold Clayton on vocals and Harold Davis on drums. The group made three albums, but ‘Dedication’ remains their tour de force, a fantastic slice of spaced-out funk, jazz and soul.

Modern jazz giant Dave Douglas releases his first new album in almost two years with a new project titled GIFTS. GIFTS’ debut album finds Dave playing with Ian Chang and Rafiq Bhatia (members of Son Lux and Oscar-nominated for the score of Everything Everywhere All At Once), as well as the brilliantly versatile saxophonist James Brandon Lewis. The album is an adventurous exploration of the genre through the lens of composer Billy Strayhorn, covering four of his compositions, alongside six originals.

Nobody Loves You More is Kim Deal’s debut album, although it’s technically not her first release under her own name – she self-released a 5-part, 10-song 7” vinyl series in 2013, and beyond that, she’s earned her stripes as early as the late 80s with bands Pixies and The Breeders.

The long-awaited record’s creation began with its oldest songs, 'Are You Mine?' and 'Wish I Was,' which were written and originally recorded in 2011 and included in said vinyl series, shortly after Deal concluded Pixies’ ‘Lost Cities Tour’ and relocated to L.A. In the years since, the record took shape in pieces, coming to light with a variety of collaborators, including Breeders past and present (Mando Lopez, Kelley Deal, Jim Macpherson, and Britt Walford), as well as new friends like Jack Lawrence (The Greenhorns) and Savages’ Fay Milton and Ayse Hassan. Tracked over the last several years, the record’s last recording was helmed by iconic engineer and Deal’s close friend Steve Albini, tracking “A Good Time Pushed” with Jim and Kelley in November 2022. Sonically versatile and propulsively infectious, the resulting record is a celebration of Deal’s unmatched artistry, nodding not only to her career highlights with celebrated bands across the alternative landscape, but also to her immovable cultural weight.

Collating additional music and remixes from the ‘In Return’ era including “Light (feat. Little Dragon)”, the anniversary edition sees a number of tracks released on vinyl for the first time with remixes from RÜFÜS DU SOL, Hayden James, ILLENIUM, Lane 8, and Beat Connection. The release celebrates ODESZA’s seminal 2104 album ‘In Return’, featuring the RIAA certified Gold singles "Say My Name" and "Sun Models", alongside other fan favorites and classics such as “All We Need”, ”Bloom” and “Memories That You Call”. The package will also feature other tracks from the era, including ‘Light’, their collaboration with Little Dragon, and — on vinyl for the first time — a number of remixes from the likes of Hayden James, Lane 8, Beat Connection, Rüfüs Du Sol, and ILLENIUM.

On the heels of his record-breaking third consecutive multi-week No. 1 single at country radio, ACM New Male Artist of the Year Nate Smith releases his sophomore album, California Gold. With this project, he’s proving that sometimes a second chance is all it takes to change your life. In the 16-track record, he unveils breaths of self-doubt, the sting of lost loves, and found loves that are too good for this world. Nate claims the project “is an evolution of my sound, but also an evolution of me as a person,” and is heavily influenced by “2000s bands like Lifehouse and The Goo Goo Dolls…It feels nostalgic but has a modern country context.” ​

The title of the project was inspired by a text conversation with an old friend who referred to the rain easing the Cali heat as “California Gold” – rare and therefore something to cherish. To Nate, the phrase unearthed shimmering memories of his upbringing in the California mountains where he stayed out too late, had his first kiss, and got into mischief with his buddies.​

Nate reflected on the life he has lived since those golden memories, realizing a truth that this new record is proof of; there’s always California gold to be found. Everyone can discover what’s golden within them if they dare to dig. Most importantly, though, Nate wants people to know that it’s never too late to find it.
